Our Story

3Fold Missions, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, was born out of more than a decade of short-term mission trips to the beautiful yet struggling country of Romania. Our work centers in Sibiu and the surrounding villages in Transylvania—a place known in legend for Dracula, but where the real story is one of poverty, broken opportunity, and a deep need for hope.

The region is also home to the Roma, often called “Gypsies”—a people group historically marginalized, persecuted, and even murdered alongside Jews during WWII. Many families here still face generational poverty, limited education, and social exclusion.

The Beginning

In October 2010, Anthony and a small team from City Church of Chattanooga traveled to Romania to support missionaries Michael and Mihaela Gravitt. At the time, the Gravitts were serving alongside Pastor Sorin Boica, a man devoted to caring for families in the village of Hosman and beyond. Sorin showed God’s love in practical ways—sharing food, providing clothes, and offering dignity to those who had none.

That first trip forged a lifelong friendship and introduced us to families like Nicu and Laura and their children. Moved by their situation, we returned the following summer with a team of ten men to build them a modest home—our first experience of being God’s hands in Romania. The theme was “More than a house,” though at the time we didn’t fully realize what that “more” would become.

A Turning Point

In 2017, Patrick felt a strong call from the Holy Spirit to return. With no formal plan, we spent time simply meeting families, listening, and learning. That trip planted the seeds for what would become 3Fold Missions. We even began the paperwork to launch a nonprofit, but life, work, and family demands soon put the dream on hold.

When Covid struck, our friend Sorin nearly died. The after-school program he had started—a ministry we had longed to support—was shut down. With it came guilt and discouragement that left us disconnected from Romania for a season.

Renewed Vision

Today, that vision is taking shape through Pathways to Hope in Hosman, Romania. What began as a desire to invest in children and families has grown into a year-round program led by local educators and mentors who know the community best.

Through the leadership of a full-time teacher, students receive academic support, mentorship, creative arts instruction, and spiritual encouragement in a safe and nurturing environment. By partnering with local leaders and investing in long-term relationships, we are helping create opportunities for children to grow, learn, and build a brighter future.

While programs and needs may change over time, our mission remains the same: to support the spiritual, mental, and physical well-being of individuals and communities as they work toward lasting transformation.

Moving Forward

The challenges facing families trapped in generational poverty are complex, and lasting change takes time. For that reason, 3Fold Missions remains committed to building long-term relationships and investing in local leaders who understand the needs of their communities.

Today, that commitment is reflected through Pathways to Hope in Hosman, Romania. Led by a full-time teacher and supported by dedicated mentors and volunteers, the program provides academic support, creative arts opportunities, mentorship, and spiritual encouragement for children and families.

As we look to the future, our focus remains on creating opportunities for growth, strengthening local partnerships, and helping the next generation discover hope and purpose. While specific programs may evolve, our mission remains unchanged: supporting spiritual, mental, and physical well-being as communities work toward lasting transformation.

God is still moving. And now, we’re moving with Him.
